Photo Tony Carwithen After Patrick Nève parted with the Kauhsen team with their rather hopeless car and Willy’s bouncing cheques, he entered the 1979 European Formula 2 Championship in this unique Pilbeam-Hart MP42 run by Mike Earle’s Onyx Race Engineering. Ironically Mike was apparently also involved running the Kauhsen WK1/004 and 005 cars at the Zolder Aurora round, and their two attempts qualifying for the Spanish and Belgium Grand Prix… Here they are seen at Silverstone. Nève – talking with designer Mike Pilbeam – qualified for the International Trophy race in 18th in a 1:23.200 but retired on lap 14 with fuel system problems.
