1976 – Jim Crawford on the grid in the Coin News 1.6 Chevron-Ford BDA Nicholson B29/75-17, Shellsport Group 8 Championship, Oulton Park, 16th. April 1976. Jim qualified 12th. far out fastest of the Atlantic runners, here shown with Lella Lombardi in front in the #37 Team P.R.Reilly Shadow-DFV DN1/6 and behind the yellow B29-BDA of Alo Lawler and the blue and white 2 litre March-BDG 73B with 75B bodywork, of Iron Man Andy Barton. Crawford finished the race in a teriffic fifth spot, a lap behind winner Damien Magee in one of the F5000 cars. Lawler finished three laps down in ninth, Lella classified twelfth but only did 31 laps of 50, reason unknown, while Andy managed to spin into the Knocker Brook barrier.
