1970 – George Follmer is a driver from the glory days who does not generally get the recognition he so richly deserves. Here he is at Sebring in 1970 for the Continental F5000 race driving a Lotus 70 powered by a Falconer & Dunn Ford 302 – one of the few cars in that era in F5000 and Can-Am to use a Ford powerplant. He qualified 5th but succumbed early to overheating. He also appears to have hit something with his front wing!. Photo and info Harry E. Hurst via FB
