Started race career in 195^ in sports and large capacity G.T. cars. Became PACIFIC COAST G.T. CHAMPION in 1955 & 1956. Collaborated in the design of the W.R.E. 2-liter sports car during 1958, and in 1959 won the NAPLES G.P. driving this car.

During i960 & 1961 drove 4,9-liter Ferrari sports car & G.T. Corvette, and again won the PACIFIC COAST SPORTS CAR CHAMPIONSHIP in 1961. Drove Formula junior Lotus & Cooper during 1961 & 1962, and began his association with Hugh Powell, driving for SCIROCCO at Le Mans, retiring at 13 hours while in 10th. position.

During 1962 drove for the Emeryson Works Team in most G.P. races and usually finished among the first 3 k cylinder cars. At the end of the I962 season he turned his attention to the Design and Construction of the Formula 1 SCIROCCO-POWELL Grand Prix cars, and he is the Team’s first driver.
