SWE F3 Champ 72 and 74. In 76 he got his chance of F1 in a Surtees TS 19 at Zandvoort Netherlands. Conny Qualified 26th position, Conny advanced his position to 23rd when in lap 9 DNF cause of the Engine. in 1977 Conny got 4 more chances of F1, But it was with the hopeless BRM P207. The car noone could qualify. 1977 went and with it Conny and BRM both out of F1. But…….I feel there is a bit more to tell about Conny…
He got his chance pretty late, He was then 37 yrs old, Well Conny raced MotoX from age 16 to 30 He only changed to cars in early 70´s but got a speedy career but only using his own money gathering from a car dealership, In F3 he suddenly got some sponsors but he still determined to do most work himself. being his own mechanic. He regret not taking help and getting back in contact with Surtees for more opportunities in 76, as he said in an interview last year: he did not know how F1 really worked being an all do it guy and that is the 1 thing he regrets today concerning F1.
