Pete Lovely on the grid before the start of the race. Pete seemed to like Lotus cars as he also raced a Lotus 49 Cosworth DFV Ford. This particular car is a Lotus 69 formula 2 previously owned and raced by Jo Rindt. Pete and his crew pulled the DFV Ford engine from his Lotus 49 and bolted it to the Lotus 69. Truly a one off and unique Lotus F1. Unfortunately this combination was not very successful. Original photograph and info by Paul Watson – scanned from a color slide. about Pete Lovely
